The Light of Ahwahne - Yosemite Valley

The Light of Ahwahne - Yosemite Valley

Update from Judith!

Late last year I told my followers about my trip to Yosemite for the purpose of photographing fall colors for artistic reference material. Boy did we hit the timing right! The weather was wonderful, the park was not crowded at all and the fall colors were good.

We were truly blessed and have lots of great photos to use as a reference for paintings and after arriving back home I began my Yosemite series.

I’ve completed a number of paintings in my series of Yosemite paintings, the latest being “The Light of Ahwahne” seen here. Ahwahne is the ancient name of what the Miwok Indians who lived in the “valley” called what is now known as Yosemite Valley.

I’m featured artist for the month of April at Gold Country Artists Gallery in Placerville and “The Light of Ahwahne” along with other paintings in the series are currently on display. I invite you to come join me for a night of refreshments, live music and art on Third Saturday Art Walk (April 20th), Gold Country Artist Gallery, 379 Main Street in Placerville, 5 to 8pm.

Have a great week and see you Saturday night!
